21 Jul Build-a-Band Workshops & Music Production Intro Sessions
It’s the summer holidays, which means it’s time to find ways to keep the young ‘uns occupied and making music. Don’t worry – we’ve got you covered!
for ages 9–18, running 23–25 & 30–31 August
For each band, we’re looking for one or two guitarists, a bass guitarist, a keyboard player and a singer; instrumentalists must have their own instrument. Places will be on a first come, first served basis and must be paid for when you book – the cost is £40 per person for the full series of workshops.
There will be five 90-minute sessions at Core Music for each band, on Wednesday 23 – Friday 25 August and Wednesday 30 – Thursday 31 August. The younger band will run from 12.30–2.00 pm, with the older band following at 2.30–4.00 pm.
Of course, it’s great for rehearsals to have a goal, so there’ll be a performance opportunity for both bands at a future date. We haven’t got the details pinned down yet, but – for example – there’s a chance our Build-a-Band participants could find themselves on stage at the Queen’s Hall as part of the Core Music 9th Birthday Concert!

Music Production – Introductory Session
at Core Music, for all ages
Tuesday 22 August and Tuesday 29 August, 11.00 am – 1.00 pm
(Note – both sessions will be the same, so you only need to attend one of them!)
We’re running a couple of sessions as an introduction to recording and music technology, both analogue and digital! Get your hands on the faders and see how the magic is made.
Those who take part in this workshop will be encouraged to join our Music Production Club starting in September – details TBC.
The session is £10 per person, to be paid when you book your place.
