We’ve just taken delivery of our first batch of brand-new vinyl! We’ve started off with a relatively small but perfectly curated selection, including a bit of rock and plenty of folk, from classic releases in new limited editions to the very latest releases. So if you like your music in 12″ format, pop down and have a look at what we’ve got!

Here are a few highlights…

The Unthanks – Diversions Vol. 4: The Songs and Poems of Molly Drake

Recipient of a 5-star review from the Independent, the latest album from local folk stars The Unthanks presents their interpretations of the rarely heard songs of Molly Drake, mother of late singer-songwriter Nick Drake. The songs are interspersed with readings of Molly’s poetry, performed by her daughter Gabrielle, giving a more complete insight into the internal world of this intriguing songwriter.

For more background, read Rachel Unthank’s piece in the Guardian on the background behind the songs themselves and how The Unthanks came to record them.

We’ve also got this album on CD, plus other Unthanks releases on LP and CD!

Dr. Feelgood – Down by the Jetty

As well as the 1975 debut album from Wilko Johnson’s seminal rock outfit, we have the follow-up albums Malpractice (in limited red vinyl), Stupidity (both normal and limited gold vinyl) and Sneakin’ Suspicion!

ANARCHY! McLaren Westwood Gang DVD/Vinyl box set

Director Phil Strongman conducted interviews with Malcolm McLaren in Paris and London, which combine with stunning unseen footage to create a history of European anarchism through the lens of McLaren’s childhood, 1960s activism and his key role in punk ‘anti-fashion’. The film also features a host of key punk figures to create a compelling exposé of the real birth of the Sex Pistols.

This limited edition 7″-square box set (1000 copies) contains two DVDs – the film and a disc of extras including the last ever filmed interview with Malcolm McLaren – a 7″ vinyl single featuring McLaren talking and music from the film, a postcard signed by Phil Strongman, a poster and Anarchy! badge, plus a 12-page book.
