About us

Core Music (CIC) is a social enterprise and partner of Hexham’s Cultural Network that creates, nurtures and supports music making opportunities for the people of Hexham, the Tyne Valley and West Northumberland.

The Core Music Hub in Hexham is a safe and supportive space for musicians of any age and ability to connect, create, develop, study and play. The Hub focuses its music activity on inclusive tuition, workshops and sessions and also offers instrument servicing and an instrument donation service that aims to provide affordable instruments, making music accessible to the whole community.

While the Core Music Hub is in part a centre for learning, education and training it is not a formalised school, and does not wish to appear as such. The Core Music Hub offers a different way to engage that is offered, delivered and sought by our community.

Core Music and the Core Music Hub are supported by our Retail Outlet and Recording Studio, both of which aim to offer high quality, community focused services and expertly selected products at affordable prices.

Our offer from September 2023 is underpinned by the Rotary Club funded Bursary Scheme, making Core Music accessible to the region and our diverse community.
